About Global Korea Scholarship 2025
The Global Korea Scholarship 2025 (GKS), formerly known as the Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP), is an exceptional opportunity for international students to study in South Korea. This fully-funded scholarship is designed for individuals pursuing Master’s, Ph.D., or research programs. Sponsored by the Korean government, it offers a chance for students worldwide to experience the high academic standards and cultural richness of South Korea.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Global Korea Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:
✔️ All international students can apply.
✔️ Korean citizens are not eligible.
✔️ Age requirements:
- For Master’s Program: Must be under 40 years old.
- For Doctoral Program: Must be under 40 years old.
✔️ Educational requirements: - Master’s Program: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Doctoral Program: Must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent.
✔️ Research Program: Must have received an invitation from a South Korean university.
✔️ Applicants must be in good health.
✔️ Candidates who have previously received a Korean Government Scholarship are not eligible.

Available Programs and Duration
Master’s Degree Program:
- Duration: 3 years (1 year of Korean language + 2 years of the degree program)
Doctoral Degree Program:
- Duration: 4 years (1 year of Korean language + 3 years of the degree program)
Research Program:
- Duration: 6 months or 1 year
Application Process
There are two ways to apply for the Global Korea Scholarship 2025:
- Through the Korean Embassy:
- Applicants can apply to 3 universities.
- Must send original or attested documents to the embassy.
- The application process includes two rounds, and passing round two doesn’t guarantee final selection.
- Directly to South Korean Universities:
- Applicants can apply to only 1 university.
- Must submit documents directly to the university.
