1. About the CERN Summer Internship Program
Located in Meyrin, Switzerland, CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear Research, home to the world’s most advanced particle physics research. By joining the CERN Summer Internship Program 2025 , you will be part of an 8-13 weeks immersive experience, contributing to advanced technical projects in fields such as particle physics, engineering, and computer science.
During your time at CERN, you will:
- Work with international teams on exciting experimental projects.
- Attend exclusive readings from leading scientists.
- Participate in visits to CERN facilities, workshops, and discussions.
2. Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the program, you must:
- Be a Bachelor or Master student in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics .
- Have completed at least six semesters of university studies by summer 2025 .
- Remain registered as a student during your time at CERN (those expecting to graduate in May 2025 are also eligible)
- Have not worked at CERN in any capacity for more than 3 months.
- Be proficient in English .
This program is open to students from all nationalities , including those from non-member states.
3. Program Features
- Duration : 8-13 weeks (8 weeks for non-member state students).
- Allowance : A daily allowance 93 CHF to cover accommodation and meals.
- Travel reimbursement : Lump sum travel allowance for Geneva travel expenses.
- Insurance : Comprehensive health insurance coverage provided by CERN
- Accommodation assistance : Help in finding accommodation near CERN.
In addition to technical project work, students will have access to:
- A physics lecture series and additional IT-focused lectures organized by Openlab.
- Facility visits, workshops, and collaborative discussions with professionals.
4. Application Process
To apply, ensure that you have the following documents in PDF format:
- A CV .
- Your most recent academic transcript .
- At least one academic reference letter (preferably two).

- Arrival Dates : Possible contract start
- June 2 , June 9 , June 16 , June 23 , and June 30, 2025 (limited spot each week).
- Non-member state students may arrive starting from 9 June .
